About
RPIG (United Kingdom)
The AHDB’s purpose is to inspire our farmers, growers and industry to succeed in a rapidly changing world. We equip the industry with easy to use, practical know-how which they can apply straight away to make better decisions and improve their performance. AHDB is a statutory levy board and is funded by farmers, growers and others in the supply chain.
Expertise
Ben Williams has joined the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) as Knowledge Transfer Senior Manager in the pork team. Ben will be working on activity to help close the current production gap that exists between ourselves and other EU countries.
He will also be responsible for bringing new ideas to the industry and demonstrating these on farm, as well as collaborating with other sectors and representatives from pig industries in other EU countries.
Ben previously worked in the education sector, having taught agriculture for the last ten years. During this time, he also ran and worked on a variety of pig and mixed livestock units, from day-to-day husbandry to site management, butchery and further processing.

Ben is the coordinator for the EU PiG project, leading work package 1 (Management and Coordination) and is responsible for running the UK Regional Pig Innovation Group (RPIG), coordinating the collection of innovative best practices.
